The patented PV-VOC pressure vacuum valve is expertly crafted to optimize VOC performance. Leveraging fluid dynamic simulation software and rigorous testing, we have achieved a level of performance that enhances all stages of operation for oil tankers. This includes filling, topping, breathing, or VOC savings in accordance with the VOC management procedure mandated by IMO/MSC/Circ.680.

Breathing Phase: During the voyage when thermal variations and ship movements influence cargo tank pressure, the valve operates in the breathing phase. Its breather performance ensures pressure control, minimizing unnecessary VOC emissions. The valve maintains the ability to open and close at the same pressure level until approximately 50% of the total flow capacity is reached, transitioning into the fully open phase.

Fully Open Phase: When loading requires the full flow capacity, the valve enters the fully open phase. The pressure unit opens fully to maintain pressure at the specified level throughout the loading process, ensuring steady, non-oscillating behavior until loading completion.

Closing Phase: As the cargo tank approaches full capacity, the valve enters the closing phase. It starts closing to maintain sufficient pressure on the cargo while minimizing blow down. The valve remains open, preventing cargo evaporation.

Topping Off Phase: As the cargo tank nears full capacity (around 98%), the topping-off phase slows the loading rate to prevent sudden overpressure. The valve enters the final closing phase, closing at the same pressure as it opened to preserve VOC in compliance with IMO/MSC/Circ.680

The PV-VOC pressure vacuum valve ensures effective control and management of tank pressure. If pressure exceeds the specified opening setting, the valve immediately opens to relieve excess pressure. Similarly, during discharge, if pressure falls below the specified opening pressure, the valve opens to relieve the vacuum.
